Portable combined UV and IR illuminator for checking documents “Korund-MTV-09”
The portable combined illuminator Corund MTV 09 is a domestic development and is used to monitor banknotes, documents, passport readers and any other types of printed products as a mobile document reader, in order to detect the presence/absence of luminescent marks in the objects under study. Widely used by employees of the Federal and Border Security Services of the Russian Federation. This is the latest Russian development, the operating principle of which is based on the combined action of different light waves.
Characteristics
The device identifies any physical changes made to the structure of the fiber of securities, as well as any third-party manipulations made with documents - changes in the seal impression, luminescent marks, watermarks.
The autonomous device Korund MTV 09 operates in non-stationary conditions, so it is equipped with a built-in display on which the user can immediately see the analysis result. The device is equipped with everything necessary for autonomous operation, including an adapter and a cord for operation from the mains. The basic package also includes an adapter for charging through a car cigarette lighter. In total, the kit includes six AA batteries, the battery operating time is 1 hour.
The impact-resistant case protects the device from accidental damage. The kit also includes a napkin, a test text and Russian-language instructions.

Operating principle of "Korund-MTV-09"
The device checks documents in two spectra - ultraviolet and infrared. Ultraviolet light reveals any marks applied with luminescent paints - security markers, fibers, wash stains.
Infrared light reveals traces of other dyes that have been applied to the paper, and also makes it possible to see places where erasing, cleaning, and correction have been done.
For testing, the device is equipped with a built-in camera and several illuminators. The results are immediately displayed.
