Purpose
In public places it is necessary to guarantee protection from terrorism, disaster, and crime. To increase security, inspection installations are used. Introscopes are an X-ray television inspection system for checking luggage, cargo, hand luggage, transport without opening and direct contact. They are necessary to improve security and inspection in high-traffic areas to detect potentially dangerous objects. They are installed at stadiums, playgrounds, airports, train stations, and railway stations.
Types of introscopes for airports
When choosing inspection equipment, they immediately look at the dimensions and size of the tunnel.
If the equipment is intended for checking hand luggage or bulky luggage, devices with a small tunnel are used: Di-Scan 5030, Di-Scan 6040, Di-Scan 6070.
For large-sized cargo, equipment with wide and long tunnels is used: Di-Scan 150180, Di-Scan 100100, Di-Scan 100120, Di-Scan 6070 DW.
Classification of introscopes:
- single-projection - with one generator: when scanning, the device produces one image, where objects for different purposes are highlighted in different colors; the color corresponds to the serial number of the periodic table;
- two-projection: when scanning they produce a horizontal and vertical image; the device increases the speed of inspection and allows you to more effectively recognize objects without manually changing the position of luggage.
The operating principle of the device is simple:
- radiation from the source passes through the scanned object;
- a stream of X-rays is projected onto a screen;
- the object is transformed on the screen into a light relief;
- the image is transmitted to the operator.
All introscopes produce a three-color image, from which operators learn about the density, type and structure of objects. Based on this data, a decision is made on the safety of cargo.
